Hoopers and non-hoopers will be coming from all over the world to attend the Biggest Hoop Jam in Canadian History Saturday August 28th 4:30pm in Place des Festivals! The Jam will take place at Place des Festivals: The Place des Festivals is bounded by Jeanne-Mance Street to the east, Balmoral to the west, Sainte-Catherine to the south and de Maisonneuve Boulevard to the north, near Metro Place des Arts see map

What is a Hoop Jam you ask?A hoop jam is a community event where people of all ages, sexes & races gather together and spin hoops around their bodies to fun upbeat dance music! IHOOPU will be providing hoops for non-hoopers to try, but if you have your own hoop please bring it! There will also be hoops for sale! IHOOPU certified hoop instructors will be offering FREE hoop classes from 4:00-4:30pm in Place des Festivals if you would like some instruction prior to the jam. DJ/Producer Nick Meehan (Guilty Gunn & b/vision) will be playing hooping music for your enjoyment. There will be performances by the IHOOPU Hoop Troupe, Anah Reichenbach, Rebecca Halls and others! Come on down to find out more about the joy of hooping! Following the hoop jam we will be heading over to the Cinema Quartier Latin (350 Emery) to see the Hooping Life Documentary. Anah Reichenbach aka Hoopalicious who has been referred to as the one who started it all is coming to Montreal! She is also a star in the documentary! Registration for her workshop is now available here. Space is limited and this workshop will fill up so please do not hesitate. The two-day intensive (Sat Aug 28th & Sun Aug 29th 12-3pm) is perfect for hoopers who have some experience (and superstar hoopers). She will be giving a workshop for absolute beginners on Sunday August 29th, 3:30-5:30pm. What an opportunity to learn to hoop from the source! Ann from the Hoop Path will also be in Montreal for the film. Ann is a very inspiring hooper who has studied intensively with Johnathan Baxter of the Hoop Path for the past two years. Ann is very dedicated to her practice and continues to push the boundaries and offer new perspectives in this art form. She will be giving two workshops Thursday & Friday August 26th & 27th, 6-8pm.
